So here it is, my not so dirty, not so secret, dirty little secret; I am positively obsessed with Burberry. Every single line, every single piece, is completely flawless in my mind. I've had this obsession since I was in the 7th grade (so I was roughly 12 years old), I can walk you through every single reason why I find Christopher Bailey (the creative director for Burberry for about just as long as I've been obsessed) to be one of the greatest creative directors currently working in the fashion business. But I won't do that, because that list is a mile and a half long. However I will present you with my collage dedicated to this obsession!!
Enjoy my crazy as much as I do.

Girls are supposed to like the color pink. It is that exact statement that has made me despise the color pink for most of my life. But this summer is going to be very different. Not only have I decided I kinda really like the color, but it dawns on me that that I'm a red headed, pale skinned girl with pink undertones. So essentially: pink looks good on me. Its opened up a whole world of options for me. To think I just refused to wear a silly color for no real good reason. Never again!
Is there a color your holding a grudge against that maybe you should give a second try?

What I've Been Googleing This Week:
Its been warming up around here, which has made me realize I have the smallest spring/summer wardrobe you can imagine. There just hasn't been a good amount of time spent investing in warm weather pieces in a few years, and wow do I need an update. I'm jonesing for skirts this year. Fun flouncy skirts. In bright exciting colors and prints. (In case you couldn't tell by the pictures above)
I'm actually planing on make a bunch this summer, (photos to come as I make them!) it seems I forgot the simple joy of sewing. I had become obsessed with the idea that if I sew something I should make the pattern too, which took away the joy. Now that I remember what fun it is to have a pattern and just make the piece, I'll never forget again!
Enjoy the warm weather!!

A few warms days are in our past and a few more are in the future! I'm usually a cold weather girl, but since this winter has been such a let down for us, I'm ready for the warm air. My mind must have been drifting that way as I poured over polyvore earlier.
It also doesn't hurt that we just got in our Summer I set at work!

Alright girls, its time to stop wasting money on exfoliators that are made up of things you can easily find around your home (or at least in the grocery store for cheap!) and chemicals that you shouldn't be putting on your skin in the first place! After all your skin is your largest, and in my opinion most important organ (I'm not counting the heart or brain, because well...duh!) You can easily make your own great exfoliant that you don't have to worry about using up on your body if you feel the need for a good old fashioned scrub. And here's all it takes:
Now container wise I just went to my local thrift store and bought a mason jar for .50 cents. But you can use just about anything to store it in. Now there are a few variations on this recipie but this is what i found works great for me!:
- Brown Sugar
- Baking Soda
- Ground Cinnamon
- Lemon Juice
- Traditional Sugar
- Coffee Grounds (I don't have these in mine, but a friend of mine does and I've used it several times and loved the addition!)
There aren't any precise measurements, I will tell you though that your base should be the brown sugar and the rest should just be small add ins to fill the jar well. One other tip add the lemon juice last, after you have mixed up the other ingredients, the lemon juice will make it slightly paste like and if you add it before you mix it will make things harder to blend.

Something important to know about me...I'm a huge tattoo freak. For now I only have two small, "hidden in plain sight" tattoos, but I have about 4 others I can't wait to get. Because of this love, I truly believe that tattooing is an art more people should appreciate. I'm constantly coming across tattoos that inspire me, they are true pieces of personal expression.
Coming across the first in this trilogy of videos this afternoon I was instantly hooked. And searched for the next two videos of progress hoping they existed. For my luck and yours they do! Overall I hope you watch these and see the beautiful and different take on the artist time lapse video.

For the past month of so I've been working at Lucky Brand, at their second largest store (Located in the King of Prussia Mall). In all honesty I couldn't be happier there, the brand is amazing, the pieces are addictive. I'd be lying if I said I didn't spend a good part of each shift shopping. I finally bought my first pair of Lucky Jeans a few shift ago and wow am I officially addicted. I have never felt more beautiful or confident in a pair of jeans before, and the new super stretch denim is a miracle. My least favorite part of jeans, the fact that they stretch out after a few wears is no longer a problem. Seriously I just love my job and love this brand. And I thought I'd share not only my love in words but some of the actual pieces I'm lusting over. And I think you all should be too.

Welcome to my collage built around the idea of the city girl and the bold pattern. I definitely have to say that there is still a winter feel to the mood that has been created, most of the fabrics upon close inspection seem to be heavy. I don't have much to say about this collage other than its my favorite of all the ones I have hanging on my wall currently; (there are several, I'll upload them soon I promise!)
It overall seems to express an attitude that develops overtime when you live in a city, especially one like New York. I know that may not make sense completely but there is a way you begin to dress almost as if the city is an accessory to your outfits; and to me each of these girls, along with the overall feeling of the board depicts that feeling.

Talk about a truly stunning video. The way they dance through all the years of style, and not only show case a single style from each decade. But instead pick all the different major trends and represent them in an authentic way is fantastic. Honestly I can't think of anything to critique about the video, the dance through the decades is done with passion, and detail. The music fits the mood that has been set by the fast pace cuts back and forth to ensembles. Meanwhile their settings are fitting to the times and its hard to catch even the slightest miss step their energy keeps you focused on the actions and not bored, searching for their wrongs. I'm so happy to have stumbled across this truly inspired piece.

Its that time of year where festivals start to release their line ups, (and as we all are aware of as the consumer, try to bid us to go their festival over anyone others). Now the boy is incredibly into these events and I couldn't be more excited to hit them up for the first time this summer. Now to me a music festival, a true good classic festival makes you think of the 1970's. Therefore I couldn't help myself by creating the perfect (completely impractical) 1970's inspired outfit.

The definition of a typical outfit for me. Nothing works better in my eyes then some green pants, a denim top and some gold jewelry. (it doesn't have to be gold, that's just what works best for my skin tone) Oh and always when in doubt, a good scarf always makes an outfit! (Funny enough this was pretty much my outfit for my first day of work at Lucky.)
